Mounts

Armour on your mount, and a mount that bites back.

Barding you can see, mounts that fight while you ride, traits for each kind, saddle bags on every mount and a seat that sits right. The name in brackets is the setting to ask your admin for.

Mount barding

  • Light barding: from the workbench, for wolves, boars and deer.Setting: Mount barding
  • Heavy barding: from the forge, for trolls, lox and asksvin.
  • You see it: the armour shows on your mount.

Mounts that fight back

  • Teeth and tusks: a mount with teeth or tusks bites what comes at it while you ride.Setting: Mounts fight back
  • Steady: it keeps its nerve for a bit after you get off.

Mount traits

  • Wolves: heal from their bites.Setting: Mount traits
  • Boars: knock foes back at a run.
  • Deer: jump for less stamina.
  • Trolls: stagger easier.

Saddles and seats

  • Saddle bags: pet packs fit deer, trolls and big tames too.
  • Sitting right: you sit on top of the saddle, even on big starred tames, and the seat height moves you up or down.Setting: Saddle seat height
  • Getting off: off a wolf, boar, deer or big tame you step down at its side.
  • Saddles say why: when a saddle won't go on, it tells you why.
  • Saddles grow: every saddle grows with each star, so you can reach it on big lox and asksvin.
  • Trolls: you ride up on a troll's back, behind the head, even on a big starred one.

More for riders

  • Big tames keep their distance: a troll, a lox or a big starred wolf stops further back when it follows you, so it stops walking into you.Setting: Big tames keep their distance
  • Swings from the saddle: they reach past your mount now, and a swing from the saddle costs the same stamina as one on foot.
  • Every tame: what each tame eats and which ones you can ride is in the Tames guide.
